August 2025

After Friday’s good news from my cardiologist, I’m celebrating by cooking dinner for my parents and me: Chef Jean-Pierre’s pot roast recipe👨‍🍳🥩🥕🧅🥔. The house already smells amazing 😌🍽️ It’s in the oven and cooking 🔥⏲️. Photos may come later 📸.

Two wins this weekend 🎉: set up Webmentions and Bridgy Fed on my old Blogger site (now www.michaelponders.com) after a week of troubleshooting 🛠️, and updated my Micro.blog theme to Jim Mitchell’s excellent mnml ✨.

Saw my cardiologist today 🩺 (visit 2 of 3, monthly echocardiograms). EF is up: 51% in May → 74% in July → 77% today 📈. Gradient keeps improving. I feel better and mostly symptom-free 😊. Looks like Camzyos is working for me 💊❤️ #HCM #Camzyos #HeartHealth #Cardiology

Summer Gratitude: A/C: Lately, especially in the heart of summer, I’ve been thinking about air conditioning and the inventions I’m most grateful for that have matured over my lifetime. I don’t think I could have lived in Florida back in the day without air conditioning. You really notice it when it’s gone. Last year, …

Is the World Marching to the Same Tune Again?:

A bright home office desk with vintage newspapers about 1930s European crises, a modern smartphone with breaking news, and a peaceful yard visible through the window, suggesting personal reflection on repeating history.

We may be about to repeat history in ways that will not be obvious tomorrow, next week, or even next year. This post discusses politics and history; if you prefer to avoid that, stop reading here.

📺 This TV Week’s Watchlist: From Paramount+: 🎬 Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season 3, Episodes 3–5 ⭐⭐⭐½ No spoilers! Continues to be a solid contender and, for me, the best of the Star Trek series on Paramount+ in this “new era.” 🎬 From Prime Video: 🎬 On Call – Season 1, Episodes 1–8 ⭐⭐⭐ Spoilers This one was okay. The Most Reluctant Convert: The Untold Story of C.S. Lewis, 2021 - ★★½: This review is not about C.S. Lewis himself or his books, but about the movie. The actor was fine for the part, but his dialect threw me off. It kept shifting, and at times it sounded like he was aiming for an English accent, but to my ears it often came across more American. The way the film told …

What Jack Baty’s Blogging Anniversary Post Reminded Me Of:

Auto-generated description: A vintage keyboard sits alongside a spiral notebook, pen, and an instant photo on a dimly lit wooden desk.

I was reading Jack Baty’s blog the other day via RSS and saw his post, “25 years of blogging”. That was three years before I started on Blogger, in the pre-Google days. I had a website before blogging: an about page, photo galleries, a guestbook, and a reading page, hosted by my ISP (GTE) around …

My Battle with Subscription Fatigue: Mid-Year Update:

Reviewing the long list—trimming expenses brings a mix of relief and challenge.

I figured I’d give an update on my ongoing battle with subscription fatigue. This is a mid-year check-in, and I might start doing these quarterly just to keep myself accountable. Over the past few months, …

I Didn’t Need a Report to Know Tampa Traffic Is Bad: Traffic camera view of I-75 Southbound near Fowler Avenue in Tampa at night, showing heavy congestion in the right lanes with long lines of red brake lights.

I was just watching our local news on fox13tampabay.com, and they had a story on a ConsumerAffairs report about which cities have the worst traffic. The city I have to travel to for work (Tampa) was ranked 13th worst in the nation and number 3 in the state, behind Miami and Orlando.

I will say I …

It’s pouring outside right now 🌧️. This has been happening a lot this rainy season. Late-night showers, sometimes mid to late afternoon ☔. It’s helping with the heat at night 🌡️. Now there’s low, rolling, window-shaking thunder too ⛈️. #Florida #rainyseason #weather

Heads of State, 2025 - ★★★★: This was fun and felt more like an action comedy than a straight action movie 🎬. Some parts were a bit unbelievable, but overall it was enjoyable 👍. This is one of the better movies Amazon’s Prime Video has made ⭐. I’d watch it again if there was nothing else on 🍿.

Just found out it’s National Watermelon Day! 🍉 Not an official holiday, but definitely a day worth celebrating. I love watermelon, so eat some today!

Old Tech, New Posts: My Most Productive Blogging Year Yet:

Vintage beachside desk with Blogger on screen and ocean view.

I have so many ideas running around in my head. I've been blogging more than ever this year, and it's been my most productive stretch since I started blogging and building my own website—23 years ago. Although I don’t think …

Living with HOCM: A Mid-Year Update: Black-and-white hand-drawn illustration of a doctor’s office, showing a doctor with a stethoscope seated at a desk, attentively listening to a male patient. The office includes a computer, medical supplies, bookshelves, and an anatomical heart chart on the wall, all rendered in detailed pen-and-ink linework with subtle cross-hatching.

Back in March, I had my six-month checkup with my cardiologist. I told him I was feeling tired and fatigued all the time, more than usual. I thought it might be the medication. My last echocardiogram in August 2024 had shown some improvement, and my PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) were …

📺This TV Week’s Watchlist: From Paramount+: 🎬 Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Season 3, Episodes 1–2 ⭐⭐⭐½ No spoilers! I liked it overall, but I wasn’t thrilled that Season 2 ended on a two-part episode. 🎬 🎬 Tracker – Season 1, Episode 12 ⭐⭐⭐½ No spoilers! This continues to be a solid series with a compelling storyline. …

Ed Zitron Might Be Right, But I’m Still Using AI Every Day:

AI at your side—just another tool on the desk.

Lately, I’ve been listening to Ed Zitron and his podcast Better Offline. He’s not shy about his views: he believes that most AI companies are burning through cash and are likely to fail because they don’t have viable products. I respect …

Keep Trek Running: Futuristic starship gliding past a distant planet with nebula clouds in the background, symbolizing Star Trek's enduring journey and its vision of an attainable future

I was just watching an old episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I’ve always been into Star Trek, every series except Star Trek: The Next Generation. I’m not sure why, but I never fully got into that one. The others: The Original Series, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, and all the movies …

📺 This TV Week’s Watchlist: From Paramount+: 🎬 Matlock – Season 1, Episodes 11–19 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ No spoilers! I just finished the first season. What a different take on the original Matlock. Overall, I liked it and was really pleased that CBS decided to renew it for a second season. You might remember I canceled my subscription to this …

The Ballad of Wallis Island, 2025 - ★★½: Just finished watching The Ballad of Willis Island. It was... fine. Not terrible, but nothing that really stood out either. The story didn’t quite pull me in, and while the setting had potential, it felt underused. This won’t be making my buy list. One viewing was enough.

Capturing a Rare Visit: Family gathered for a rare visit — grateful to be the one behind the camera 📸💛 Some of my cousins came by with my aunt and uncle to visit my parents. It’s not often we’re all in the same place, so I gathered everyone for a photo: my parents, aunt, uncle, and cousins. We don’t see each other much …

Balancing Simplicity and Style Online: I recently made a few updates to the theme on my website at michaelmitchell.blog, which is hosted through Write.as. Capturing the Moon with My Seestar S30:

I’ve always wanted a telescope. Something I could use to take photos and videos of the night sky with my phone or camera. I recently came across a YouTube video about the Zwo Seestar S50, but since this is my first telescope, I decided to start with the more beginner-friendly S30 and bought it for …

Blogging My Way: Typora + Git + Cloudflare + Micro.blog: This post serves two purposes. First, it marks the inaugural entry 🥳 on my new blogging system. I'm using Typora ✍️ to write and save my posts locally in a folder. From there, I git push them to my GitHub repo 🔁, which then deploys to Cloudflare Pages 🌐. Happy 249th Birthday to the United States of America 🇺🇸:

A cinematic oil painting of a 1776 Independence Day parade in a colonial village. Continental soldiers in blue and red march down a dusty road, led by a large Betsy Ross flag. Civilians on both sides cheer and wave flags, with women and children in period clothing celebrating. The warm tones and painterly texture give the scene a nostalgic, historic feel.

Today, we celebrate the 249th birthday of the United States — my home country and my birth nation. Nearly two and a half centuries have passed since our founding, and in that time, we’ve experienced triumphs and trials, unity and division, progress and setbacks.

Some might say we’re not in a good …

I see Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” has passed. I think it will ultimately cause more harm than good. If it works the way it’s supposed to, I should personally benefit from the overtime provision and maybe, in a couple of years, the new car interest tax rebate. But I also know a lot of …

What Am I Even Blogging About?:

When you sit down to blog… and suddenly forget what you were going to say.

I’ve been thinking lately about what to blog about. I’ve had several ideas. The reason I’m blogging about this is because I’ve been trying to figure out what should be a blog post. I tend to think …

June 2025

📷 Day 30: Solitude A lone hawk resting in the oak outside my window. Quiet, still, and completely at ease in its own space. #mbjune

📷 Day 29: Winding A quiet road from years ago, curving through the trees. I’ve always liked how it disappears just out of sight. #mbjune

📷 Day 28: Ephemeral This was our boat after Hurricane Milton last October. The rain filled it overnight. It was a moment that came and went quickly. #mbjune

📷 Day 27: collective My first raised garden bed. A collective of herbs and veggies, each one small on its own but coming together to make something special. 🌱 #mbjune

📷 Day 26: Bridge Old rail bridge in downtown Tampa, FL.

📷 Day 25: Decay What we see as decay, nature sees as renewal. These fungi don’t just mark the end — they begin the next chapter.

📷 Day 24: Bloom Not even in the ground yet and already showing off!

📺 This TV Week’s Watchlist:: From Peacock: 🎬 The Day of the Jackal – Season 1, Episodes 4–10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ No spoilers! I finished the first season, and all I have to say is: Bravo. There was action, mystery, intrigue—and more action. Some parts felt wildly exaggerated; I can’t imagine all of it happening outside the realm of TV drama. …

📷 Day 23: Fracture Our neighbors tree after Hurricane Milton last year October 2024 it fractured were luckily it didn’t damage anything.

Tracing Roots Lost to War:

Echoes of a family’s journey across time and borders.

I’ve been wanting to blog about this for a while. This will probably be a long one—and it might even turn into a series of posts around a central theme.
My mother—more than me, but me too—has always wondered about her mother’s …

📷#mbjune Day 22: Hometown After the storm, the streets of my hometown fall into a kind of quiet only a big-city suburb knows—where palm trees sway under a fire-lit sky, and everything feels like it’s holding its breath.

📷 Day 21: silhouette Nature’s silhouette framed in moonlight and moss. 🌕🌿

Feeling better today 🤒➡️🙂—still dealing with some cough, congestion, and hoarseness 🤧😶‍🌫️, but I’d say I’m about 65% back to normal 💪. The only downside? I’m not behind on work! 😅 But hey, I guess that’s just life 🤷. #CoughChronicles #OnTheMend #SickButSurviving

📷 #mbjune Day 20: gather A gathering at Disney World’s Liberty Bell 🔔, full of smiles 😊 and summer warmth ☀️.

📺 This TV Week’s Watchlist:: From Peacock: 🎬 The Day of the Jackal – Season 1, Episodes 1–3 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ No spoilers! I’ve been under the weather this week—caught a summer cold and wrote about it. Since I’ve been off work since Wednesday and mostly napping, I dove into a couple of series. This one’s on Peacock, and since I’m canceling …

My AI-Assisted Workflow for Sharing Blog Posts on Sharkey:

I’ve written extensively about how AI has changed the way I interact with computers and brought my ideas to life. Let me restate something I’ve said before: I’m not a software developer. But I do have ideas—and I’ve always wished I could bring them to life. Well, thanks to AI, that’s starting …

📷 #mbjune Day 19: Equal Two lanes, equal in purpose, streetlights equal in height, as day and night meet at the horizon. 🌇

📷 🍰 Day 18: Texture This homemade carrot cake wasn’t just delicious — it was an experience. The moist, flavorful crumb paired with the thick, textured icing made every bite unforgettable.

📷 #mbjune Day 17: Warmth There’s nothing quite like a pot roast to fill both the kitchen and the soul with warmth. The scent, the flavor, the memories — all simmering together in one pot of comfort.

Well, it’s official — I’ve got a cold 🤧. First one since last year after my Disney World trip 🏰. For some reason, I always seem to catch them in the summer ☀️😷. COVID-19 test came back negative ✅. I don’t feel awful, but the stuffy nose 🤒, light cough 😮‍💨, and relentless post-nasal drip are really …

📷 #mbjune Day 16: Blur A blur of light, memory, and reason—maybe the 2017 eclipse? Or maybe I just missed the shot.

Of Kings, Constitutions, and Parades:

Painting of an intense Revolutionary War battle scene showing American Continental Army soldiers clashing with British Redcoats. An American soldier at the center holds a Betsy Ross flag high as smoke and chaos fill the battlefield, with bayonets drawn and expressions of determination on both sides.

Yesterday was a normal weekend day for me. I relaxed and played one of my favorite PC games. I also spent some time troubleshooting my Python weather bot — a little project I built just to post local weather updates from my house. But this post isn’t really about that.

While relaxing, I ended up …

📷 #mbjune Day 15: Tie Two styles, one snapshot in time — 🎀 bow ties and 👔 classic neckties you rarely see today, but forever frozen in old family memories 🕰️.

Killer Heat, 2024 - ★½ (contains spoilers): This review may contain spoilers. I liked the premise of the movie, but it didn’t feel like the right fit for Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Shailene Woodley—it just didn’t suit their usual style. On the other hand, Richard Madden really looked the part of the villain and played it convincingly.

📷 Day 14: Twilight Caught the moon slipping away just as twilight began to rise over the city. A brief, quiet moment before the rush of the day.

📷 Day 13: Pathway A winding path deep inside Ruby Falls, Tennessee. The journey through the cave was as awe-inspiring as the waterfall itself.

📷 #mbjune Day 12: Hidden Axel’s idea of “hidden” is becoming one with the tree. 🌳😹

📷 #mbjune Day 11: Brick My brick house (cat not included).

I start my first dose of Camzyos tomorrow to see if it helps with my obstructive HCM symptoms. I’m a bit nervous 😟 — there are a lot of black box warnings ⚠️. I have my first follow-up ECHO next month 🩺. What worries me most, though, is that while insurance has approved the medication and the …

📷 #mbjune Day 10: Rail A rail can keep you safe.

📷 #mbjune Day 9: Wood Wood makes all kinds of useful things.

The Accountant², 2025 - ★★★ (contains spoilers): This review may contain spoilers. The Accountant 2 wasn’t as good as the original, but it was still interesting. The real standout was J.K. Simmons, even though he only appeared at the beginning. Ben Affleck delivered a solid performance, just like in the first one. Overall, not a bad watch.

Captain America: Brave New World, 2025 - ★★½: I wasn’t impressed. It feels like they’re trying to revive something that really just needs more time to rest.

📷 #mbjune Day 7: Switch Not the kind you were expecting — no light switches here. Just my trusty Nintendo Switch Lite… and yes, I’m still a little bitter I haven’t gotten a Switch 2 yet. 😅

No Man’s Sky – Nearly 10 Years Later:

No Man's Sky Promotional image. Colorful alien landscape featuring a red and pink grass field, exotic plants, and various alien creatures including dinosaurs and flying animals. A humanoid figure stands near a spacecraft while several rockets and ships ascend into the sky. A large geometric monolith floats in the sky with a glowing center, and a giant ringed planet is visible in the background

I saw that No Man’s Sky has released another update. I’ve been with this game since day one—I preordered it and even got the free bonus ship, which I still have to this day. That’s one ship I’ll never give up because it was a launch bonus. I’ve upgraded its storage and technology over the years, …

The Equalizer 2, 2018 - ★★★★: Finished the second one tonight—just as good as the first and third. A really solid series overall, and you don’t have to watch them in order (though it helps with one part of the overarching storyline). Denzel Washington does a great job bringing his character to life.

May 2025

Journeying Through Life With a Thick Heart: Dealing with worsening symptoms of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, I’m hopeful about a new medication while preparing for the possibility of surgery.

The Equalizer 3, 2023 - ★★★★½: It’s been a movie weekend 🎬, and this was the last one. No spoilers, I promise 🤐. The Equalizer 3, starring Denzel Washington, was great—just as good as the original 💥. I haven’t seen the second one yet, but you don’t need to watch these in order. Denzel does a fantastic job in these movies 👏. I’ve …

I Still Believe, 2020 - ★★★: No Spoilers. Not bad for a film based on a true story. I liked the story and the music—it was engaging and covered something I never knew about. Worth a watch if you aren't looking for an action movie or comedy.

Nonnas, 2025 - ★★★★: This wasn’t a bad movie. It was family-friendly and, according to the end credits, apparently based on a true story.

Carry-On, 2024 - ★★★½: No spoilers — not bad at all. The characters were solid across the board. Jason Bateman played against type — it was interesting to see him in a different kind of role. Taron Egerton is a versatile actor and delivered a strong performance here too. Not bad for an on-the-fly choice.

Weekend HomeLab Adventures: I woke up early today, determined to finally get Nostr up and running and join the network. After all, ChatGPT—my AI guide for most things—told me everything would be fine and estimated it would only take 30 minutes to an hour. You're probably thinking it should have taken 15–20 minutes tops. …

Howard Frankland Bridge 🌉: The Howard Frankland Bridge has significant personal meaning and a unique character, having evolved over the years while offering a safe crossing experience despite occasional traffic snarls.

The Flash, 2023 - ★★ (contains spoilers): This review may contain spoilers. This was my first time watching this. It started out pretty good, but overall, it wasn’t that great. I’m glad I never bought it or paid to see it in theaters. I know there’s been a lot of controversy surrounding Ezra Miller, and while he usually gives a solid …

📺 This TV Week’s Watchlist: From Disney+: 🎬 Andor – Season 2, Episodes 10–12 Season and Series Finale ⭐⭐⭐ No spoilers. I finished Andor last night and walked away feeling unsatisfied. The characters were strong and interesting, and the actors and actresses who portrayed them were compelling and …

Quest to Pare Subscriptions: In my continuing battle with subscription fatigue, I’ve decided to drop my SiriusXM satellite radio service — they wouldn’t match the rate I had before, so I let it go 👋. Finished reading: Who is Jesus– Really? by Josh McDowell 📚 Finally finished. Learned a couple of new ways of thinking and explaining things. On to the last book in the series.

📺 This Week’s Watchlist:

Last Breath, 2025 - ★★★½: This was much better than I expected. I really liked all the characters—each one felt distinct and well-acted. The story moved at a good pace and held my attention the whole way through. Knowing it’s based on real events made it even more gripping. I can confidently say I’d never want to work in the …

The Order, 2024 - ★: Big cast but ultimately disappointing. The pacing was slow, and the story didn’t flow well. Hard to tell how true to life it really was.

Why Even Have a Savings Account?:

Studio Ghibli-style illustration of a person counting coins at a table

I just received a notice that my High Yield American Express Savings Account has dropped its rate from 3.80% to 3.60%. I remember it being 4.00% at the end of last year, and even a bit higher when I opened the account earlier in the year.

So, let’s recap:

🌌 Star Wars Day:

Hand-drawn anime-style illustration inspired by Studio Ghibli. A cloaked figure holding a staff stands on a grassy hill, overlooking a calm river beneath a bright blue sky. Two floating spherical droids hover nearby, and large, softly-painted planets hang in the sky. The landscape is lush with green trees, wildflowers, and distant mountains, creating a peaceful, dreamlike sci-fi setting.

Today isn’t just another Sunday — it’s Star Wars Day. 🎉

May the Force — or the Fourth — be with you.

I'm a big fan of Star Wars (though I’ll admit I’m an even bigger Star Trek fan — too bad Trek doesn’t have its own dedicated day, at least not one that’s widely known). Still, credit where it’s due: …

📺 This Week’s Watchlist From Disney+: Andor – Season 1, Episode 12 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐ Andor – Season 2, Episodes 1-3 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rewatched before starting the new series. Excellent and the real start of the rebellion. Great but a little slow going in parts. If this is the last season I hope they tie everything up …

Mufasa: The Lion King, 2024 - ★★½ (contains spoilers): This review may contain spoilers. This was an OK Sequel. After watching it I think I would much rather the cartoon look of the first one and CGI in this was one was heavy.

After reading @manton’s post and Rob Shearer’s “Mastodon Exit Interview” at v.cx, I decided to spin up a Sharkey instance 🦈. I have to say—I like it! If the price is right, I plan to keep it alongside my Mastodon instance. I’m hosting it with K&T Host 🎉. #sharkey #fediverse

The new Samsung One UI 7.0 will take some getting used to 🤔. I don't have a definitive opinion yet—it’s still new. However, I’m leaning toward the view that some of the old icons were nicer, while a few of the new ones are better 🎨. I'll have to explore it more now that it just updated 🔄.

📺 This Week’s Watchlist: From Netflix: The Recruit – Season 2 (All Episodes) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just finished this one—very good in my opinion! Except for the last episode, which needed a little work. It felt a bit too unbelievable. But overall, the whole season was better than The Night Agent! 🎬 Tags: #TV …

When AI Can't Tell Life from TV:

I bought this $50 device because I was curious if it could eventually help my aging parents (in their 70s) keep track of the small things they occasionally forget. But before even thinking about handing it to them, I wanted to test it out for myself — to see if the concept actually worked. …

A Programming Journey with AI: What They Don't Tell You:

A determined programmer sitting at a cluttered desk with multiple screens showing lines of code and AI chatbot responses. Floating digital assistants

It all started with a simple question: Can I take an RSS feed from one blog and feed it to another?

I knew that my Write.as blog automatically generated an RSS feed and that I used to import posts directly into Micro.blog. However, I was running into issues with duplicate posts. So, I had an …

All my life, I’ve been told that Russia and Putin are bad for the U.S.—which I believe. But now, we want to get closer to Russia just because they’re big and powerful?

Republicans were once at the forefront, saying Putin’s Russia is evil. Now, Russian assets are in charge of our country, and …

Heart of Champions, 2021 - ★★★★: I enjoyed Heart of Champions. It could have been a little shorter, but the performances were strong and the story was compelling.

My Quest for the Perfect Chair: Auto-generated description: A Secretlab Titan gaming chair with dark upholstery and blue accents is positioned in a corner.

I really need a new chair. I bought a Secretlab Titan chair in 2020 at the height of the supply shortages and COVID-19. I had to wait a few months for it and paid almost $500. I figured that since I work remotely a couple of days a week and would be sitting in it when I’m home from work, it would …

You know, I think the media should pull all their coverage and reporters from the White House. Trump thrives on media attention. I know Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN won’t, but the people who watch them 24/7 wouldn’t care anyway. All we’re getting is lies, half-truths, and garbage as it is. #politics

What a total disgrace by the President and Vice President of the United States. This was clearly a planned move by both of them, only serving to benefit Putin. Just like the President's claim that Ukraine started the war, this plays right into Russia’s hands. Russia must be laughing at us, while …

Glad tomorrow is Friday. This week, I just haven’t had the get up and go in me.

First day with my new glasses 👓, and it’s great! I can finally see the computer screen without closing one eye or the other. Both screens are now perfectly readable! 🤓

Finally got my new glasses today and I can see again. I haven’t seen this clearly in 2 years. Soon as I put them on they were different but in a good way.

Who would want to work for the federal government, especially at an independent agency that Congress has expressly legislated into existence, if the next President can whimsically cut it out by Executive Order (which is unconstitutional) and cut off its funding? Where is Congress?

AI can be great! I just used it to analyze a file and confirm that it was a .jpg missing its extension. Then, it showed me exactly how to fix over 1,000 files. For newbie geeks like me, it's fantastic! 🚀

So glad it is Friday. Work was tiring this week. Got my 2024 taxes done. Figured I get them done before there is nobody left there to send me my refund 🏦. Also still have not gotten my glasses it has been 2 weeks. Supposedly next week.

Writing Into the Void: You ever feel like you're talking to a wall, like nobody is listening? I do—all the time. I feel the same way about writing and blogging. It often feels like I’m just writing for catharsis because no one seems to be reading or interacting. But maybe, someday, a future generation will stumble upon my …

It seems Trump is pardoning all the corrupt politicians. I just saw that he pardoned Rod Blagojevich, the previously convicted former governor of Illinois. I wonder how much that netted Trump—and which position he’ll fill in the administration?

I haven’t used Twitter in a while, but I downloaded my data one last time before deactivating my account. I was really hoping that Elon would get tired of it and sell, but at this point, he’s ruined it beyond usefulness—who would even buy it? WordPress is gone. Twitter is gone. What’s next?

Start of a new week. I am exhausted it was an usually busy day at work. I will probably sleep pretty good tonight.

My Cousin Cindy: My mother told me today that my cousin, Cindy Shaw Rounds, passed away in her sleep in Jacksonville at the age of 63, either last night or this morning. I will miss her greatly. Beyond Politics: How to Build a Better Federal Government:

I have a multifaceted plan to restore integrity to the U.S. representative governing system. While I am not naive enough to believe this could happen through Congress alone, I think it is high time the states called for a Constitutional Convention. Such conventions should likely occur regularly, …

I was thinking the other day after my doctor said the colonoscopy went well. He removed one polyp, and it was likely benign. The pathology results confirmed that it was indeed benign. The doctor also mentioned that I won’t need another colonoscopy …

Went to the eye doctor today in a city one county over—took about an hour to get there. The doctor was friendly & thorough. He agreed my prescription was bad, fixed it, & now I have new glasses on the way. 💵💵 My new glasses will come in a couple of weeks!

Finally going to the eye doctor tomorrow for new glasses. So glad I am about to go crazy with this prescription it has been pretty bad.

18 years ago, I was diagnosed with and had a basal cell carcinoma on my back it was fully removed. Now, I have a yearly dermatologist appointment for skin checks. It was done today, and still noting of concern. Except my Notalgia paresthetica adding Capsaicin creme in addition to Sarna. #thankful

If a Democratic president attempted to exert the kind of influence Musk has over government payment systems, Republicans would be up in arms, demanding impeachment hearings. Musk wasn’t elected to anything, and in my view, his loyalties seem to serve only himself.

I watched an old episode of Laverne & Shirley today, and there was one scene that had me laughing nonstop. They just don’t make lighthearted TV like that anymore. We especially need laughter nowadays. #ClassicTV #TV #Nostalgia

January 1, 1977, I remember: January 19, 1977 I remember this day vividly. It was a Wednesday, and I was there, playing in the snow for a bit. 4th of July 2021: Happy 4th of July 2021 to everyone. Hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th of July. This year we are seeing the World rebound from hopefully once in a lifetime Pandemic. During this time my normal TV viewing habits have changed and I find myself watching less newer TV shows and series and more old …

What if?: What if you won the lottery? I always think this. I imagine depending on how much I won where I would live. Hawaii, French Polynesia, Corfu, or Crete. That is my shortlist. Each has its pros and cons. I lean toward Hawaii as it is part of the United States does not require a passport and the people …

April 2021

Just thinking: I was just thinking I haven't posted in a long time. Nothing really worth posting. Other than I have gotten my Covid-19 vaccine, both does of the Pfizer. I have also been thinking lately about how I have been watching more oldie TV. I find the shows comforting and better than some of the junk they …

December 2020

Last Post of 2020: Wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Let's pray the Lord will Bless us all in 2021. My Mom and I were talking today. For our Family, other than my father losing his job this year, 2020 was not that bad of a year for our Family. We all had relatively good health and did not get COVID-19. So this year …

Merry Christmas!:  Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday King Jesus! Without you eternal life is not possible. Thank you for all you have done, are doing and will do. Enjoy your day everyone.

A sad day:  Christmas Eve is a sad day for me. I dropped my Pixel 4XL and the front screen has cracked. It is moderate and the phone functions. So I will have to spend the money and get it fixed 😞. Especially since I have at least another year.

Merry Christmas Eve!:  Merry Christmas Eve to everyone! Hope everyone is doing great. My family is doing as good as can be expected in light of everything. We are all COVID free which is great. Just wanted to remind everyone to keep in mind The Reason for the Season the birth of Our King Jesus. So while you celebrate and …

Season Finale's: I have to say Disney+ is a hit and the Series The Mandalorian is great. I just watched the Season 2 Finale and it was 9 out of 10. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni should have been handed the keys to the Star Wars Universe. They have the best handle on the Star Wars Canon and tying all the Star Wars …

October 2020

Post Haircut:  Here is my hair post haircut. I feel lighter and it is cooler. The barber is great! I still didn't feel safe too many people in there this time but we all had mask on, so I think it will be OK. We stated away from each other.

Pandemic Hair:  This is the longest and most out of control my hair has ever been. This is my pandemic Covid-19 hair. I will hopefully be getting a hair cut on Monday after work. It is way too hot for this long hair.

Clothing Makers: Attention all clothing makers. When making shirt short sleeve or long sleeve, how about a pocket for men just one. I just it for my cell phone. That is all and Thank you!

Been a long time: It has been a long time since I post a blog. I really have just been working and trying to keep my sanity with the political theater lately. I have voted and it has been turned in and can't wait for the election to be over. I am also looking forward to Thanksgiving week. I will be off 4 out of the 5 …

Our Last Dog is Gone!: Petals are last dog would have turned 16 years in October of this year. We had to put her to sleep today as she was suffering from some kind of medical problem (either tumor or stroke). She was a great dog and was always happy to see anyone of us.

May 2020

Enjoying Time Off: I have been off the last 3 days and have been relaxed. I have 4 days left. Wish it could be more, but atlast I cannot afford it.

Coronavirus Family Update Status: My family and I have been doing fine. We have not been sick other than I have a minor sinus infection. But again none of us have been tested so we don’t know if we are carriers. We try to keep away from everyone and only go out for work or the grocery store. I wish there was reliable testing …

April 2020

Thank you: Thank you to all of you that have wished me Birthday wishes for my 51st Birthday. I can’t say it was much of a celebration in the light of being in a pandemic. But, the wishes were great and I wanted to thank you all. Thanks to my mother for one of my favorite dinners and the red velvet cake. …

End of an era: It is the end of an Era for the Mitchell Tribe as I have sold the Inverness Property I inherited from my Grandmother. I tried to hold onto it until I could fix it and improve the land with a new trailer but after 12 years and money lost I sold it. I remember spending my summers up there with my …

Wuhan China Virus (COVID19): Well, I hope everyone is doing great and keeping their social distance and washing their hands. The Wuhan China Virus is teaching us a lot as a Nation and People. Here is what I am learning so far. 1. Our Internet Infrastructure is not adequate if a majority of people are working from home. Congress …

February 2020

Broadband in America: I have been thinking lately about a lot of things broadband related. If telecom and cable companies don’t start investing in building out high-speed internet they are going to lose. When Starlink and OneWeb and even if Kuiper gets up and running they are going to lose a good portion of there …

January 2020

Welcome 2020: Welcome 2020 be kind to us and thank you Lord Almighty for another year in your presence.

Good Bye 2019: This will be my last entry for 2019, my 50th year on this Earth. This year has been a much better year than the last few in many ways and worse in some ways. Overall, I will say I did not mind this year. Not sure how 2020 will turn out for me, but I am hoping it will build on the positive things …

Google Thank You!: Google Thank you for completing RCS! You did it. Now just add encryption, but thank you!!!!

Season 2 of Lost in Space: I watched Season 2 of the New Lost in Space from Netflix. This is the greatest show Netflix has. It was outstanding. I can’t wait for Season 3 and hope I don’t have to wait another year. Netflix get to work or sell it to Disney Plus.

November 2019

OK Google are you listening!: Google should shun the Carriers and just build or turn on their own RCS services and make a bold announcement about it. Then bypass the Carriers and bake in encryption and just make a true competitor and Android version of iMessages. It is time Google. OK, Google are you listening! Do it and show …

October 2019

RCS Google now is the time!: Google now is the time to go full speed ahead and take RCS into your own hands and out of the carriers. You want to be Apple-like when it comes to phones well that includes RCS messaging. Bypass the Carriers and do it yourself like Apple does. This way it is own your own Phones by default and …

Google Please!!!!: Google the Pixel 4 disappoints. Please listen for the survival of the Pixel line. No, I don’t have the Pixel 4 nor do I want one. Why? No fingerprint reader. Face unlock/ID might be just as secure, but it is not 100 percent reliable. No FM chip. I know that streaming is your bread and butter …

Retirement: My permanent retirement is still a little ways off. Just wondering where I should retire. I have pluses and minuses for each one. Thinking of the list below. Does anyone have any thoughts and suggestions? My retirement will be mostly Social Security and will need my money to last, high-speed …

Microsoft's Surface Event: The highlight of this week was watching the Microsoft Surface Event. I liked and wanting everything they announced. My wallet says no and that is the final word. My head says get get get! I plan on waiting to see the reviews and hope that next year will be a better year financially so that I can …

September 2019

Please Netflix: Please, Netflix you don’t have to add sex to every episode of TV Series. The storyline is strong enough without it and I personally don’t want to see it. Respect the storyline and people’s modesty.

Americans are stressed beyond belief in my opinion: Everywhere I go lately service is terrible. I went to CVS today to pick up my prescription which was only 7 pills for 15 dollars. I get home and look in the bottle and I have only 6 pills. So I called CVS they will have the other one ready for me. I am not making an extra trip until Monday after …

iPhone 11: Saw the Apple keynote yesterday. Was not impressed with anything except the new Apple Watch Series 5. I did like the new colors for the phone especially that midnight green. However, the new phones are not that inspiring. I like my Google Pixel 3. Let’s see what Google comes up with as I have …

Doctor's Visit today: Went to my Primary Care doctor. Have a lot of medical issues trying to work through them one at a time. But doesn’t help when a staff member sends you home with somebody else’s paperwork. Now, who has mine if anyone. Been a long week glad it is almost over. I need about a month off.

18 Years Ago: Do you remember where you were when 9/11 attacks occurred? I do. I was in traffic court in Plant City, Florida.I had just left when my mother called me to tell me about the first plane and then while I was on the phone with her she watched the second plane fly into the Tower. That whole day was a …

Back to work: Back to work tomorrow. It was a relaxing weekend, except for the leg cramps I had every night that I was sleeping. I played video games but not as much as I hoped. I was tired and decided to just relax. I did finally get to start Season 7 of The Walton’s. This month and next month will be a …

Hurricane Dorian: Praying for all the people in the path of Dorian. Cat 5 Hurricane.

Not enough time: I have a head full of ideas but not enough time to accomplish them or the strength. Wishing everyone a great Labor Day.

Weathermen: I think weathermen need to stop relying on computers so much. They have no idea what Dorian is going to do except the next few hours.

August 2019

Labor Day 2019: Labor Day weekend 2019 is off to a good start. Got my oil change on my car and got most of my electronics updated and charged. Happening Now: Happening now, stress and tension. Just when I thought everything was going great. The economy wants to tank. I am planning to be debt-free in just six more years if the economy holds it together. On a happier note, I finished The Durrell’s of Corfu and loved it. I am still watching The …

Want to visit Corfu: I really would like to visit Corfu Greece. I think I am going to start a Visit Corfu Savings Fund should be full in about 10 years 😀. I am hoping it turns out I really like the place as it may be a contender for retirement.

Just thinking: Lately, I have been just thinking about moving out of the City the more and more I watch the Waltons. High-Speed internet for rural America, PLEASE!

Old TV Shows: I find myself watching more old TV shows lately. I have recently started to watch The Waltons. I remember them when I was growing up, but it was not the main show. I have really enjoyed watching Season 1 on Amazon Prime. I have been enjoying watching old shows on Over the Air TV shows like All in …

Cloud Computing: have been thinking a lot lately about how everything is or wants to go to the cloud. I think the only thing that should be in the cloud for sure is back up. Otherwise, I prefer to have everything locally. I know that companies are pushing us to the cloud/remote storage for subscription fees and …

April 2019

End of April: April is coming to a close and this has been one of the better ones for me. I turned 50 and they had a surprise party for me at work. The only thing that has not changed and makes me sad is my finances. Gratefully, I only have 3 more years until this new car is paid off and my money problems should …

April 2019: April is my favorite month, but for the last few years it has been my worst as far as life itself. I have been sick the last few April’s in the beginning. Just want this year to be better and so far it is ok as I am not sick. I used to be able to take the whole month off and would. For the last 10 …

March 2019

Cloud Computing and Cloud Platforms: I watched Google Stadia announcement today. I think this is a great idea but it suffers from one major drawback. Internet connections. A lot of people do not have high-speed internet and it is getting worse. If you do have high-speed internet, some people have data caps (which is ridiculous for a …

February 2019

2018 Tax Return: Don’t know what all the fuss is about. I got back about 150 dollars less than less year, but have made more than that with the small increase in bi-weekly pay check. Taxes are taxes. I probably should make sure I zero out each year, but I use it as an emergency fund. I have also been sick. Sickest I …

2019 off to dud: Hello All, I am trying to blog more, but I just don’t have it in me lately. I have been so tired. I think it is my medication for my heart. There is nothing I can do though. What is going on with Corporations: Well, this is going to be a rant. First Ford is dropping sedans, which the Fusion, the one car I love and have bought new in the last couple of years will stop being made in 2019. Admittedly I would have had to buy a new car anyways since my last car died. I didn’t have to go with Ford, I went …

Sure it only goes up by twenty or thirty cents here and there and it always seems to be in the tax section. Can they imagine one more fee/tax to come up with? My service is great Verizon but your nickel and diming is …

What is up with these rabid foxes?: Where did all these rabid foxes come from. Hopefully, they stay on the west side of the County.

Drunken Patron takes down the Scoreboard Lounge: Poetic justice. When I was a deputy I hated going in there or even to the parking lot. One of his own drunk customers took it out.

Susan Boyle on CNN: Here is Susan Boyle on CNN with Larry King. It is broken down into three parts. The first part is the interview. Second part: Third part: She sings My Heart Will Go On in this part a cappella.

This is absolutely amazing:  I feel like this lady sometimes. I can really relate and was absolutely on cloud 9 for her performance. And the judges were right and I have never seen Simon actually smile and pleased about a performance.

Non-family: Why does a husband of a cousin of mine think he can just barge into my room uninvited when I was showing my Cousin something and had no intention of showing the non-family member. It was nothing devious, sinister or crude. It was some information I only wanted to impart to my cousin. I personally …

Down with American Idol: Fox network needs to make sure that American Idol cuts on time. I missed a full 5 minutes from my Fringe show. Luckily, I caught it on Hulu.com.

Somalia Pirates: We need to do something about these Somalia Pirates. I say it is time to send in the Navy to patrol that area full time and a battleship to bombard their lairs on shore.

Cant believe it: Well, today was the half way point for my Spring Break. I really can't believe it. I wish it were longer. I also wish I did not have to take this Certification Exam.

Wow over a hundred years ago: This is thought to be one of the oldest videos ever to exist. You can download your own copy at the Library of Congress.

Its my birthday: Well, its my birthday. Yep I am 40. Don't feel like it. Both physically and financially. Nothing big planned.

Losing the battle: Well, today was a bad day for me. Not at school that was actually a great day. But, the day turned south when I went to the doctors office for my 3 month visit. First, I am losing my battle with losing weight. I have gained 2 pounds. Secondly, my blood pressure has been borderline for years. Well …

Busy weekend: It has been a busy weekend. I finally got my new monitor in. My old one gave up after 6 years. In fact, it would not even show anything today. I did not think the new one would be here until Monday. I went out the door and there the new monitor sat on the front porch. I was glad because without it I …

Blind Date: I had a blind date tonight. Mutual friends setup us up. I had a great time and this is my first blind date that was a hit instead of the misses I had on previous blind dates.

Joes Crab Shack: My Cousin Tina and her husband took my Mom and me to Joe's Crab Shack. The food was excellent. I recommend the place for the food. I had the crab of course. They make an awesome Lobster Bisque soup. However, we had to wait an hour and half to get a table and the service was not the greatest. That …

February 2009

A sad lost for us all: Well, I just got the news that Paul Harvey has passed away. I've lost so many family members and familiar faces in the past three years—uncles, aunts, TV and radio personalities I grew up with, and my grandmother. His wife passed away last year, and I’m convinced that when a man loses his wife …

I watched the opening only and it was good: Here is the opening of this year's Oscars in case you missed it. Hugh did a great job. That was about all I watched. Then I had to study more.

CNBCs Rick Santelli: This guy is great. He should be U.S. Treasury Secretary. He is on the money. Watch this.

Back to School: Well tomorrow it's back to school. I have another big test on Wednesday. Only 5 months to go until graduation and hopefully a job.

American Idol: This year's American Idol is not that interesting this year. And on the weight front. I have lost five pounds over a week and a half. I am happy. Also, wearing one of my suits that I bought last year when I retired, tomorrow. Have a big function and test tomorrow at school.

Website: I know my website other than this blog, has been updated lately. I will try to get around to it either later this month or next month. I have just been very busy study for school and my National Certification Exam. As I will need a job desperately before the end of the year.

Good Week? Maybe?: Well, as far as school goes it was a great week. I kicked butt on my tests. However, for the first time in my left I got a stye in my right eye. It hurts and itches like the chickenpox. Praise the Lord he gave me an excellent Ophthalmologist. She had her nurse return my call and had an instruction …

Another day another study day.: Well, I am still recovering. I feel about 85 percent better than I did at the beginning of the week. Yet, I also feel tired. I guess because I am still studying.

Sick Sick and Sick: I have a wicked head cold. I haven't been this sick in a while. I feel like I have no energy to do anything but curl up in a ball. Ohhhhh to have health insurance!

Another day at school and me being sick too: Well, I went back to school today after the long weekend. It was alright. I had a test and did very well on it. Missed only one question. Probably had something to do with me only getting 2 hours sleep last night. I woke up with a sore throat yesterday and it continued all night and got worse. I …

Study Study Study: That is all I have been doing all weekend. I can't wait until July I should be done studying and taking test after test after test. I just hope I find a job then.

Just thinking: Well, I was just thinking of when I could update my website. It might be as late as March. With school and studying every day I keep pretty busy. I did join Facebook today. We will see how that goes. I am going to try to blog more often. As I have started using Windows Live Writer and it works great …

School going good: So far this year school is going good. I just hope there is a job for me when I am done. Did anybody make any New Year's Resolutions? I didn't I always say lose weight. I have almost given up on that.

Well today was my Mom’s birthday. I gave her a gift. Hope she likes it. Not much else going on. I did post something on New Years Day. However, it did not post. So I will post it again. School will be keeping me busy. We are down to two tests per week now and I have two projects I must do. …

I took my exam on Wednesday morning. Thursday, I received a call and was told I did totally awesome on the exam. My name is going on the list for the Pharmacy Technician school starting in August of 2008. I prayed that I would do well and pass and the Lord answered.

I had my sinus surgery yesterday. It went well, except that I had to stay all day in the hospital. The doctor was worried about the anesthesia and my sleep apnea. I am in very little pain. But the best part is I can breathe again. I finally got released from University Community Hospital at 9:30PM …

I took my exam today for entrance into the Pharmacy Technician at a local technical school. I will know tomorrow how I did. I feel fairly good about it. Also, I am anticipating a good sinus surgery on Friday.

I know I haven't updated the website and added my vacation pictures. Still working on downloading them from my cell phone. I also have been in a little pain. So, I may not get to it until next month.

The surgery may have been a success. However, after that first day when I was all drugged up on pain medications, I began to hurt and we won't even talk about going to the bathroom. But, add that to the $6.00 a month auto insurance increase and you see a trend. All the while my pay is …

Been lazy all this weekend. Recuperating. Still no more pain pills. Might be able to shave a week off of sick leave and comeback next Monday, the 7th. Also, got some bad news about a job I applied for. Did not get it. Looks like I am locked in at my current employer for another 12 years and 5 …

Feeling better today. No pain pills in the last 12 hours. I think my website is all done at this point only thinking of adding one thing and it will probably not be until a little later.

Feeling better. Still a little loopy. Have made some updates to the website since I have a little time. Can anyone find them? Let’s see. Added a new feature have been wanting to add for a few months now. Going on the weekend. Hope everyone has a good one. My turn on the web cam this weekend. …

I am now testing the blog to mitchell-report link. Let me know if any subscribers get it. Thanks

I am doing better. Still a little loopy. Since I have a little time have added a couple of new things to the web site. Can you find them? Let me know what you think.

Surgery went well. I am groggy still and have a slight headache. But, everything went better than planned.

Tomorrow is the big day. I have to be at the hospital by 6:15 AM. Also, my address site of Michael@michaelleemitchell.net is up and running.

Today was actually not a bad day at work. I got everything I wanted to accomplished done. Two days to go to the day of surgery. I did get some bad news on the financial front. My car insurance is going up $6.00 a month. That may not matter to most people and seem a lot. But, everything is going up a …

Some of the new TV Season started this week. 7th Heaven was excellent. A new series on WB called Everwood was excellent. Enterprise season premiere was excellent. So far looks like a good TV viewing season. Had a big disappointment this weekend, Jason was kicked out of the Big Brother 3 house. Saw …

Why do I have to be so mistreated? I was called back to work unfairly on my day off and suppose extended weekend. Why you ask?, For what I call over reaction to a situation that could have been easily explained to everyone (blowing up a minor fire into a raging inferno). Well, I am totally hoping I …

Well, I got the SonicBlue ReplayTV yesterday. So far I have to say TIVO is better. TIVO implements it’s system in a more user friendly way. SonicBlue is not a bad company. The ReplayTV does have 3 things I really like. Such as, Ethernet connection to update instead of telephone line, …

Hello everyone, First of all I have made some bad financial choices in the past couple of weeks. I purchased a real web site (or at least I thought) from Web Extreme it costs me $157.00 dollars and after the first year it would have been $132.00. I had a minor problem at first and this was miss …

Well, I have surgery on the 26th of September. I will be out of work for 2 weeks. I go for my pre-op stuff on the 19th. I sold my laptop and my TIVO. I bought a SonicBlue ReplayTV. I hope it will be in this week. Watched a couple of pretty good movies last week. Hart’s War and Black Hawk Down. …

Happy Labor Day! The day that all of us working stiffs get to rest. Well, not me. I had to work until 7 AM this morning. But, I have the rest of today off and tomorrow. Big things in the works for the next month or two. Can’t explain right now. But, hopefully soon.

August 2002

Well, unfortunately I start midnights tonight. For the next 28 days my life will come to a busy zombie movie. Work, sleep, eat, doing employment things for a new perspective job and more work. But, I have a good concept that I wish I could market. A PC that is running some operating system (Linux, …

Well, money, money and more money. That is what I need. I just read on the MSNBC site that a job satisfaction survey show more than half of people are disgruntled with there jobs and there co-workers among other things. Well, I am disgruntled with my job not necessarily because of my co-workers but …

Thursday and Friday were bad days for me. Looks like I will be staying at my current job until retirement. Second, on Friday I went to the Doctors I need surgery. Albeit minor I will still need to have it. I will probably get it the first week in October or the last week in September.

Why do people in this world think that they have to be fake? I will leave that at that! I am done with overtime this month. I also go for an interview for my new job prospect tomorrow. I hope it goes well. I am off work Friday because I have to go to the doctors. I will probably turn on the webcam …

Another week done. I was off yesterday but had to work overtime on Tuesday and did not get off from work until 8 AM Wednesday morning. I slept only for 5 hours and was like a Zombie the rest of the day. I took a couple of extra days off this coming week (which starts Friday). I watched the Lord of …

Tomorrow it is back to work. I will be working hard the next two weeks. Have some overtime planned to pay off debt and the hunger is subsiding. The new diet is working.

July 2002

I have lost 8 pounds. I am extremely hungry all the time. You are not allow to have but limited carbohydrates for …

Hello everyone, it has been a long time. Nothing new. I will be working a lot more overtime in the next couple of months. Why? For 3 reasons. To pay off bills to get out of debt and to get a house. Second, saving money in case my new job comes through. Third, to save money for Christmas. If I …

Sinus infection is subsiding thanks to antibiotics. Well, I am enjoying my 2 days off. Hopefully, this will be a slow week. Sunday, which was my Friday for work, was extremely busy. Went bike riding tonight with my Dad. Went bicycled 2.5 miles.

It has been a few days since I posted. I am currently living with another sinus infection. I went to the doctors today and have been put back on antibiotics. I made out like a bandit today. The doctor gave me a lot of samples. This is great since my fund intake is a little low right now. I am almost …

June 2002

Oh, I forgot to mention I saw Training Day with Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington. I hated it. It had some good parts but overall 1 star out of 5. I also found a good website Spun.com . It is a place you can sell DVD, CD or games that you don’t want. I bought The Beach a couple of years ago. I …

Well, my weekend was uneventful. I have my application for my new job almost done. This week should be it. As far as my job now I will be starting a seven day stretch. I am also starting a work out routine with a co-worker. So, I probably will not be updating the Blog for a week or so. Take care …

My last weekend off. Then I work a seven day stretch. I will be lazy all this weekend. May take in a movie.

Raining today. Perfect day for rest, sleep and games.

This week is over. I got very frustrated at work this week. I worked overtime everyday except for Monday and Wednesday. I am looking for the next two days to go very slow.

Not a good day at work. I was bored and then to top it off I worked 4.5 hours of overtime that I will not be paid for.

Well, the first day back to work today was a typical Monday. It will take me a week to catch up. Garbage in, garbage out.

Saw Attack of the Clones today. Excellent Movie. I would recommend seeing it. I plan on buying the DVD. Back to work tomorrow. Going to be a busy week.

It is a Saturday and watched an excellent DVD called behind Enemy Lines. Going to go watch Attack of the Clones tomorrow. Back to work Monday. Unless, I win the Lottery. Post pictures of our trip to Disney on Photo album page 1.

Gone to Disney World will be back sometime Friday.

I went bicycling today. I went with my dad. He bought us all bicycles, in an effort to lose weight. We went about 3 miles round trip. Man I am tired. I am including a link to an excellent song and singer . He has a voice I wish I had. His name is Josh Groban. He is being introduced as the Pavarotti …

Well, everyone I am off until Monday morning. I can’t believe it. I got through a most difficult month at work. Now, I will get some most needed rest. I can also clear my mind to think about the future. I will turn the webcam on tomorrow. I am still praying to win the lottery.

Hope everyone enjoyed the new webcam picture. I turned the thing on for the first time in a while. I am thinking about quitting my current job and taking another job. I will take an approximately $3000 pay cut for a couple of years. However, in the long run will make more money. In fact within 3 …

Well, I saw the season finale for Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven and Smallville. They were all excellent. Next season should be great. It will take all my patience to wait for next season. Hopefully, the new TV Season will begin in August. Well, I have not won the lottery yet. So, back to work tomorrow. …

To catch everyone up to date. I saw Spiderman last week. This movie is awesome. I can’t wait to get it on DVD. Lately, TV has been good. I saw Spiderman then watch a miniseries called Dinotopia. That was excellent too. Also, my favorite TV Shows are airing there Season Finales. Unfortunately, …

I have been back to work one day and wish that I could win the Lottery. I don’t know how I will make it another 12 years until I can retire.

Well, I have gotten a Gamecube game console. I like it. I am playing Rebel Assault 2 on it. The graphics are good and the game play is challenging. Go back to work tomorrow not looking forward to that.

Sorry it has been a long time since I have updated the blog. I have been extremely busy at work. Nothing new on anything really. Other than I have been trimming expenses. I will probably update the website at the end of the month. Take care to all for now.

April 2002

It has been a while since I have Blogged. I am back to work have been since the 19th. Work is work. I am still hoping to win the lottery.

Feel 100% better. I am still not 100% but feel like it. I should be ready to go back to work from one of the worst vacations ever.

On another thought no one responded the other day about the TV question. Why do I have 500 channels and other than what’s listed on my TV Page there is nothing to watch? I think it is a big conspiracy between my job and the TV industry. That way I would rather work than continuing flipping …

By the way can someone answer this question for me. Why is it when I go on vacation I get sick? Why can’t I get sick while working that way I can use the sick time allotted to me? Please someone figure this out and answer it for me.

Well to the doctors I went today. Verdict. Still sick. Still have the bronchitis and now have a very bad case of sinusitis. Back on another antibiotic, steroid, cough medicine and a steroid nasal spray. Good news is that the bronchitis is getting better. But have had setback due to sinusitis. I have …

Off to the doctors I go tomorrow. I still have this cough. You may have notice the comments part of the blog are gone. I was having issues with the service I am using for the comments. I will work on it and hopefully have them back up by next week.

Another 11 days and I have to go back to work. Oh well, it has been a terrible vacation. Being sick and losing my voice. I have another doctor’s appointment Thursday and we will see what we will see.

Here it is Friday and again nothing to watch. Nor is there anything I think that is good at the movies…..

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to watch on TV on Thursday nights? I have the Dish Network Satellite with over 500 channels and there is nothing.

Today was an ok day for me. I am slowly improving. This thing is nasty. I hope no one else gets this.

I still have no voice. But, I am feeling a lot better. Well, tomorrow is supposed to be a special day. We will see. I have updated some parts of my web page. I am thinking about adding a calendar. Let me know what you think. Also, I need to catch up on my TV watching. I also need some sleep so I …

Each day I am growing in strength. I just wish my voice would. Now not looking forward to going back to work.

Well, feeling much better. Just need my voice to get back to normal. As of today I have 16 days until my vacation. I keep hoping I will win the lottery so that I don’t have to go back.

Just to let everyone now. The antibiotics have kicked in. So have the steroids the doctor put me on. I feel about 50% better. I hope to be up to a 100% by Thursday. I am starting to get my voice back. It is still rather raspy though.

March 2002

It is official I have bronchitis. I went to the doctor today. I am on three medications. An antibiotic, a steroid and a decongestant. I feel miserable. You know when you say someone looks miserable. You do not know what miserable is until you have had this. I don’t know if I will be adding any …

Yesterday and today make me think I am going to die. I have a chest cold and it has brought be to staying in bed. One minute I am hot with sweat pouring off of me the next freezing cold. This is the second cold I have had this year. I haven’t had this many for a long time. What a way to spend …

I am off for 3 WEEKS. I am loving it already……..

Another week has passed. I am off for the next two and half days. Starting next Sunday I am off for three full weeks.

My Niece picked the theme for the sight this month. She liked the Festive Citrus Punch Theme. So in keeping that I changed the Blog page accordingly. I am off until Wednesday. This was a long week. Felt like I was working for a month. End of this month vacation time.

Wow, what a day. This was a long day. Attorney’s I say get rid of the bunch. This is a seven day work week and only day two of it. 12 years 10 months to go to full retirement. That is 154 paychecks getting paid monthly. You saw it right I get paid once a month. My niece is here tonight. She is …

Received some bad news from work today. This will definitely make a difference in my budget.

Another weekend is here. I look forward to it for the time off. However, TV stinks on the weekend. In fact, it stinks from Thursday nights till Monday nights. February 2002

Today I had to keep my mind on work. If I started to think about Camelot I started to get emotional. So, I kept my mind on my work. It was a good day at work. I got a lot accomplished. Looking forward to this weekend.

Today was a good day a work. However, when I got home it was not good. It started out good but turned horrible. I had to take my Mom and Dad’s dog Camelot to the pound. He had cancer. He was starting to suffer. He was not eating, drinking or using the bathroom. I had to take him so they could …

Today was a lousy day at work. I got written up for non-sense. I mean I don’t mind taking punishment for my actions. As long as my actions are wrong. But, when it is non-sense and not fully factual I have a problem. But, with a new regime you get people who like the last regime focus on the …

Hope you enjoy my redesign of the website. Let me know…..

I finished two days of grueling overtime on my days off. I will be working 10 hours Monday through Thursday. I can’t wait until next Friday at 2PM. I will be off for the entire weekend.

Well, it feels like the movie Groundhog for me. I have to work the next 7 days straight. I cannot wait until next Friday. Also, can someone answer a question for me. Here is the question: How come when you help family it always comes back and bites you in the rear end?

Well, I had to get new glasses today. I think the eye glass industry is a monopoly. The have you over a barrel. No matter which eye glass store you go to they are all expensive. We need the guys that prosecuted Microsoft to look into this.

Today was not that bad of day. Much better than yesterday. Nine days to go before I have a day off.

Why do some people, especially people with money, have to be such jerks. I had a good morning a bad mid morning and a great last two hours of the shift. We are getting a lottery pool together at work. I hope we when. I have 12 years and 11 months to go before I can retire. It cannot get here fast …

I took Henry (my dog) to the groomers yesterday. I am taking him to the Vet today to get his teeth clean. Then …

January 2002

Well today is my last day off. Tomorrow night it is back to the organ grinder. The Vet wanted to try Henry on some new food. She said that they have had good results for dogs with food allergies. Well, I feel a little better. I am about back to 65%. If I can only get rid of this headache and cough now I will be back at 100%.

I have been sick since last Thursday. Each day I have gradually gotten worse. The cold has moved from my head to my chest. I hope it improves and I stop coughing.

I start midnights tonight at my job. I can’t wait. A friend loaned me the DVD Fast and Furious. I am glad I would not buy this movie on my own. I just did not like it. It has some good moments but overall no good.

Well, the webcam is back up and running. Everything is progressing nicely with the new computer. Now if I can only get that new job!!!

Well my computer is getting put back together. I think that I will have all my programs loaded back within a month or two. All mission critical stuff is on my new computer.

December 2001

Well as you can see I have updated my website. I am starting to design it where only a couple of pages will change each month and the theme. I will be dabbling with using frames. Hope you enjoy. Also, I hope to have good news on a new job front next month.

Well, my web site will not be updated for Christmas and probably not for New Years either. Sorry! My new Dell is not here as of yet. They are supposed to ship Friday. However, I don’t think it will happen. I have also realized that a laptop is good only for mobility. I would not use it for a …

October 2001

Well it has been a long time since I blogged. Well, nothing new going on. Just wish I could win the Lottery. Major update planned for the website in November.

September 2001

Well, Today is my day off along with tomorrow. Man am I glad. Since I have been back to work it has been crazy.

Well, it is back to work tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. Work piles up while I am gone. It will take me at least 5 hours to catch up.

Started planning for Christmas today. I am saving money now. The past couple years has been skimpy. But, I am starting early this year to include everyone.

Well I am vacation from Yesterday to Thursday. What a relief. I needed a break. I put in 13 1/2 hours of overtime last week. But, I have had some restless nights since Tuesday.

I have updated my website. I hope everyone likes it. I borrow stuff from other websites and did some on my own all together it took me about 4 hours.

Well, I have been glued to the TV like everyone else. I cannot wait to see vengence. I think it needs to be quite soon. I will continue to pray for those in New York and Washington D.C.

August 2001

Well another work week down. I am thinking about taking a big action but cannot reveal it. Still weighing all options.

I have been extremely busy the last few days. I will be busy tomorrow. Luckily I am of on Monday and Tuesday.

I am thinking about switching next year when my contract is up from Verizon DSL to Wildblue satellite service. I am not having problems with Verizon DSL and like it much. However, the Wildblue is supposed to be faster. I would like more personal web space too.

Well, I kept getting called by Eckerd Corportation Today. It was a fax machine. It called me for over an hour. I would answer and it would be that stupid fax. So using my caller ID I called the number and got some very rude lady. I explained what was happening and she said what do you want me to do …

Well, today at work was going fine until about 12:30 PM I had a flat. The floor jack I used slipped from underneath the vehicle. The vehicle went plummeting down to the surface. Well, I have been tired the last couple of days. Work has been exhausting. Not to mention I have to get these turbinates microwaved. Hopefully that will stop my headaches. Well, tomorrow is my last day of work until Tuesday. I was planning to work my overtime Tuesday but will do it on Wednesday …

I have a question, here it is: Why can’t people take responsibility for the actions?

Well I have been working a lot lately. It is going to be a rough month. But, next month I have a week’s vacation.

I am playing the online game Majestic by EA. It is kind of overwhelming. You need about a two month vacation to really play this right. One month to play and then another to recover. So far I give it a mixed review.

Well, it is my day off and going to play some Star Trek Away Team…….

Well, I tried to watch a DVD called “The In Crowd” half way through I said enough. It is an awful DVD. I wouldn’t recommend this one.

I now can blog and have Windows XP installed. Now to get my computer back to normal. I like Windows XP. Can’t wait for the final version so that I have all my drivers.

I am using Windows XP and like it. Now I have to get all of my computer up and running…..
